Where is the Best Place to Study?
We all know your dorm room is the worst place to cram for finals. But what is a good place? That’s exactly what I will cover in this article. A good study spot can change the course of a college career and is different for everyone, so I have collected the best places to study on the Seattle Pacific University campus and compiled them below. And there’s no need to take my word for them, try them out yourself!

The first place I want to bring to your attention is the Student Union Building or SUB. The SUB is your building as a student and can be a great place to study. The SUB packs a ton of great seating having some of the only booths on campus, making it one of the most comfortable spots to study. However, there is often a lot going on in the SUB. There are many food and drink options such as Starbucks, Handcrafted, Pie on the Fly, and the Serrano Grille. This can make the SUB a little hectic, especially around lunchtime. That’s why some people prefer to study in the SUB later in the day. “I’ve studied in the SUB until 1 am,” says Jack Kelly, a senior at SPU. Learn more about what the SUB has to offer here.

The second place I want to make you aware of is Weiter Hall, another great place to study. Weiter has a few different places to study. The first spot is the second-floor lounge. Located just past the new Falcon Express. This lounge has many seats and tables to be utilized by students. It’s often quieter than the SUB during the day as well. Weiter also has a second, lesser known, lounge to study in. This lounge is located on the first floor and is often referred to as the Colloquium. While intended for commuter students the first-floor lounge is often unlocked and rarely has many people in it. Making it the perfect spot to hide away and get some work done.

The last spot on my list is the library which might seem boring, but Ames Library is arguably the best place to study. It is by far the quietest and offers the most accommodation when it comes to studying. The library has a total of four floors and has tables to study on each level. In addition to many tables and quiet corners, the library also offers private study rooms which you or a group can reserve on their website or through this link. Having a private room with a door can make a huge difference when attempting the late quarter academic comeback. The library has even more assistance for students as well. Such as the Research, Reading, and Writing Studio where students can go and receive feedback on essays and projects. There are even more resources the library offers which can be found on their website. “When I really need to get some work done I head to the library for some time uninterrupted.” Learn more about the Library’s available resources here.
No matter how you like to study, quiet and secluded or caffeinated and talkative, the Seattle Pacific University campus has a spot for you. Go try them out!
